Its tailgate is sturdy but weighty — and after a full day of loading and unloading, the repeated effort adds up. The ProLift Tailgate Assist attaches to the Colorado's factory tailgate hinge points and uses a gas strut to control descent and reduce lift effort, making the tailgate feel significantly lighter without any permanent changes to the vehicle.
