Central Locking Kits for Ute Tailgates

Most Australian dual-cab utes do not include the tailgate in the factory central locking system, leaving it as a separate manual latch. UniUte's tailgate central locking kits integrate the tailgate into your vehicle's existing locking system so that locking or unlocking with your key fob or door lock controls the tailgate simultaneously. This removes the need to manually lock the tailgate every time you leave the vehicle, and ensures the tub is secured as part of your regular lock routine.

Installation and Compatibility

Tailgate central locking modules are vehicle-specific and connect to the existing central locking wiring via a plug-and-play harness on compatible models. Installation typically involves removing the tailgate trim panel to access the lock mechanism and running the module wiring to the central locking system at the cab. No permanent modifications to the vehicle wiring are required on most supported models.

Combining with Other Tailgate Accessories

Central locking works well alongside a Prolift tailgate assist, which controls the opening speed of the tailgate once unlocked. For complete rear tub security, pair tailgate locking with a roller shutter or hard lid that provides a separate lock over the tub opening.
